Wednesday, July 20, 2005 The String Quartet on Stage Our core string quartet was hired today for a guest performance at the Suntec Convention Hall Ballrooms. The event was the Annual Safety Performance Award 2005, graced by Dr Ng Eng Hen. It was a marked change from our performance at the Ritz Carlton last wednesday, but it was nevertheless just as classy. Our quartet performed some standard pieces of Classical music by Mozart and Pachebel, which was rapidly followed by Jazz numbers with STRIIIINGS' members improvising on the spot, a style that has been developed by our players over years of performances. It is such a joy when we can look into one another's eyes, and know what each player will do, all without speaking.
