Tuesday, April 12, 2005 On Raffles' Lawn It was our first time performing at The Lawn at Raffles Hotel on the cusp of dusk last evening, STRIIIINGS is usually hired for wedding ceremonies held in the late morning where the bride would stroll down the lawn accompanied to the strains of Kanon in D. Yesterday, however, was no wedding, but a celebration of the opening of SEB, a Swedish bank. It was a very cozy affair, with lovely food around the buffet spread. I'm sure swedish meatballs can become a staple of many of our band members' diets! In order to make the event even more meaningful for our clients, we arranged a couple of ABBA songs specially for our piano quartet group. Ma Ma Mia and Thank You for the Music were both appreciated by the guests, and we wish we'd more time to arrange even more of ABBA's lively music. # posted by Paul @ 12:00 PM
