Italian Festival Concert at INSEAD

Insead Poster

STRIIIINGS' String Quartet was cordially invited to perform for the Italian Festival at INSEAD tonight. We would like to thank INSEAD, and in particular, Mr Gianluca, for the honour, and we hope that our surprise performance of the Italian National Anthem brought smiles to everybody!

Piano Quintet at Raffles Hotel

Today marked the debut of the Piano Quintet, and the most full bodied sound ever produced by STRIIIINGS. From the heart thumping "You're in my Heart" from the Disney movie Tarzan used for our client's first march in, to Moulin Rouge's "Come What May" for their second march in, to Winter Games for the Food Entrance.

Fantastic. Our emcee had the time of her life, helping co-ordinate the pranks to be played on the wedding couple by the guests :P

And the greatest thing was the waitress that came up to us, and told us that STRIIIINGS played the nicest music she's heard.

Raffles The Plaza

STRIIIINGS was hired as an emcee cum solo piano group this evening, but after the fun I had performing in a cello/piano duet, we decided to give the couple a set of cello/piano duet for free. I've always wanted to play Kanon's main melody on the cello (Nobody understands the anguish of a cellist having to play the same 8 notes for the whole length of the piece!!!), so when the groom made the special request, I jumped at it :)

Again, our clients, this time the groom, had secretly prepared a special surprise for his wife way in advance, in March. And though he had the jitters, I managed to convince him that his rendition of Fly Me To The Moon accompanied by me on the piano would be loved by everybody. And it was. It was so worth the effort of hunting down the piece of music, and then recording it down as an mp3 for him to practise to, when it was finally delivered tonight.

Most fantastic! And the couple allowed us to take pictures with them, and to put it up on our blog, so keep a lookout for the picture(s)!

STRIIIINGS As a Wedding Present.

Our Piano - Cello duet group was hired to perform for a wedding at Four Season's Crescent Ballroom this evening and for the March-In, the duet performed a lovely rendition of La Vie En Rose.

What made it all the more unique was the fact that STRIIIINGS was a wedding present from the guest to the couple!
