12th SGH Dinner at the Ritz

This must be our shortest performance to date! STRIIIINGS was called upon to be a guest item after the awards presentation, and our segment was for 20 min.

We had a really difficult time trying to decide what pieces of music to perform from our huge repertoire. After a lot of deliberation, we finally decided to perform three pieces of music that would fully reflect the group's versatility.

Thus, we first performed ABBA's Ma Ma Mia in a pop style with full orchestral backdrop and drums. Then we performed the classical Pachelbel's Kanon in D with some jazz infusion. And finally we performed the lovely Korean love song, I Believe, with its lovely simple piano passages. All to heartwarming applause!

The organizers wished they had more time to allocate to us for the performance, and so did we. There are so many styles STRIIIINGS can do now, rousing pop, soothing jazz and romantic ballads, and we usually don't get to perform them all during our usual three hour long gigs.

20 minutes of performance definitely was far too short!
